Is it a Porsche? Strosek? Ferrari? Porschari!!!

strosek-replica-porsche-frontWe’ve been a bit lax with our eBay finds of the month lately, but that’s only because we don’t want to bore you with just any old car or Porsche related item. It takes something special to make our list! Take this month’s example for instance. What’s with the decal on the front fender? Is it a Porsche? Is it a tuned version by Strosek? Or, could it possibly be the ultra rare Porschari?

Advertised as a 1996 Strosek Replica (I’m not a huge fan of Strosek, but I think even they may consider this an insult), this 1977 Porsche is for sale on eBay with a Buy it Now price of $19,500.

According to the seller’s description the car looks much better in person than it does in the photos. All we have to say, is let’s hope so!!

Even more surprising then the sellers description (or that someone would even build something like this) is the fact that someone (at least four people as we write this) has already placed a bid for this car. It just goes to show there truly is a garage for every car. As always (and maybe even more so in this case) regardless of what type of Porsche you’re buying, or where you might be buying it from, a Pre Purchase Inspection is a must!

    I feel the sick mind behind this bastardized monstrosity may be more interesting than his creation.One question comes to mind ,why?

    Our thoughts exactly. One thing that has us perplexed is the emblem on the fender. It’s not a Ferrari emblem (the horse is prancing in the wrong direction) and it’s obviously not a Porsche badge either. Anyone have any idea????

    The seller of this item would like to thank you with broken english and a severely disjointed perception of reality for the free advertising. This car looks awful. Whoever buys this should undo the damage…

    This poor car has something of an identity crisis. It’s listed as both a 1977 & a 1996 model, but has a late model VIN. It also has both an automatic & a manual transmission. The lucky highest bidder is going to get a unique vehicle. Doncha just love ebay?

    @Andrew. IMHO, whoever buys this is nuts.

    @Marque911, eBay= 2nd only to craigslist.. :-)

    I hate to say it, I have seen much, much worse for much more money.

    I don’t condone it, but at least it still looks like a Porsche and seems to be put together right. Some good parts, Recaro sport seats, exhuast, etc.

    Heck, I don’t like all the RS reps running around, I’m a stock guy. Give it to me the way Porsche made it.

Got something to say?
