The Illuminator is not only an extremely bright LED light source, but it also features a USB port so that you can charge your cell phone, BlackBerry or other electronic device. It's invaluable in an emergency.

One way to assure having enough light is to have an mPower Emergency Illuminator on board in your Porsche! What Andrew didn't know, when reviewed the 12VSpotlight (as he only had the product I sent him) was that they offer many different kits and accessories. One such accessory is a band to convert the light into a head-lamp. As you said, very, very convenient. In addition to the head-lamp route, they also offer a small magnetic stand that you can either place on the ground or attach directly to any thing metal (such as your fender, etc.). Check out the links in the article above and you can see all the different options available.

@Jeph,

Glad we called you out!!

I couldn’t agree with you more about the head-lamp. But when it comes to WORKING on a car (in terms of repairs), getting one of those goofy lights you wear on your head is the way to go! Changing a tire at night with a hand-held vs. a headlamp is the difference between night and day (pun intended). This is especially true if you want to minimize the time spent on the side of a busy road. Even something simple like working on brakes -it's nice to have light shining where ever you look (AND having 2 hands to work -as you experienced under your car).You'll probably have more uses for the light you've reviewed, but when it comes to cars, I can't help but to mention a head-lamp. (I'm a fan of the Streamlight brand.)

Uh oh, this post will bring out the flashlight snobs… and here I am.

This light seems versatile and convenient.
