I drive a bunch of different cars too (pcars and others). I wave to almost every Porsche I see (or flash lights) and get little to no response these days.I remember as a kid growing up (had a CJ-7) that it was almost considered a crime not to wave to other Jeeps.Times have definitely changed.

Glen,

I agree with your observations. I recieve a completely different reception from fellow Porsche drivers according to what I drive. I dont want to step on any toes here, well, maybe I do!, but people who use their vehicle as a "lifestyle ornament" are much less likely to wave/flash back. I get the same thing driving a motorcycle, with riders of a certain american brand as the chief offenders. I am not offended however, because I am satisfied with my own vehicle and do not need external validation. I have or do own various models, with a 914 as my main everyday driver. What I think should be remembered when you fell smug about your car or bike, is that the waver/blinker has an interest in your machine, and it is an honest compliment . Maybe they have a 908 or gt3 back home. In short get over yourself! Its a compliment! So wave dont wave whatever, Ill be driving what I do.

I have driven, and do drive many different cars.
