This is Possibly The Fastest Way to Go Through Tires on Your Porsche

Autocross not your thing? Driver’s Ed a bit too tame for you? Have you considered drifting a Porsche? If so, JIC-Magic just might have your answer. Spotted on eBay is this 1996 Porsche 993 (Euro based lightweight) with a heavily modified 3.8 twin turbo motor and more modified suspension parts than you can shake a stick at. (If you can’t view the video below in your email, simply click on the drifting Porsches to view it on our site)

This video is worth watching for the sound and smoke alone. For more information on the 993 itself, view the complete listing on eBay (sorry, the listing had been removed).

How Much Would You Pay for a Porsche Owned by David Beckham?

Beckham’s 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible is for sale on eBay via Chequered Flag International. When we called the dealer to ask a few questions about the car we were immediately transferred to the Chequered Flag’s owner, Neil Jaffe. Asking Neil what he thought about all the press Beckham’s Porsche is generating he responded, “it’s like having Elvis’ car for sale”. Based on the current bid price (north of $132,000 as we write this) and what we’ve seen for coverage, he just may be right.

David Beckham's Flat Black Porsche for Sale

A number of web-sites state that “David Beckham is Selling his Porsche on eBay”. That’s not quite the truth. According to Jaffe, his dealership bought the customized Porsche from Beckham last month and is now offering it for sale on ebay. Inquiring about proving provenance, Jaffe sent us a copy of the title which you can see below.

Title to David Beckham Porsche for Sale on Ebay

When we asked Neil how high he thought the price might go (the reserve has already been met) he mentioned that he was offered $175,000 to end the auction early and didn’t accept it. While we know Beckham is popular, and his Porsche 993 did well when that was sold on eBay, we think he should have taken the offer and cashed the check quickly!! Hopefully he proves us wrong.

A Diesel Porsche For Sale in the US?

How’s this for an eBay find; a 1960 Porsche Diesel “Super” Tractor L 138 for sale.

A 1960 Porsche Diesel Super Tractor

History of Porsche Tractors

Believe it or not, Porsche began thinking about tractors as far back as 1934 when he produced three petrol powered prototypes. However, because he never put them into production (in 1937 he was ordered by the German government to produce a “volks-tractor), he wasn’t allowed to start his own production at the end of World War II. Not one to be outdone, Porsche signed licensing agreements with two different companies, Allgaier GmbH in Germany and Hofherr Schrantz in Austria. Respectively, using the Porsche engine design, these two companies produced the Allgaier System Porsche and the Hofherr Schrantz System Porsche.

In 1956 Mannesmann AG wanted to enter the tractor market and did so by purchasing the license for the Porsche diesel engine and the Allgaier tractor design. Rebuilding and expanding an old Zepplin factory west of Friedrichshafen, Mannesmann created a modern manufacturing facility where the Porsche Diesel tractors were produced until the end of 1963.

What’s More Rare? A Porsche Tractor or a Porsche 356?

It is believed that between the beginning of production in 1956 through the end in 1963 more than 125,000 Porsche diesel tractors came off the manufacturing line. In 1960, the year this particular Porsche tractor was built, it is thought that a total of 10,000 were manufactured.

By way of comparison, there were 7,556 Porsche 356s built in 1960 with a grand total of 79,470 356s produced between 1950 and 1966. By simple math, the 356 definitely seems to be more rare. However, after some additional research, seems that only 1000 of the Porsche tractors were sold in the US by the American Porsche-Diesel Corporation. Of those 1000, approximately 300 of them are accounted for by the Porsche-Diesel North American Registry.

For more details on this particular Porsche Tractor for Sale, you can check out the images on the listing or see our slideshow below (if you’re viewing this via email you may need to click on the title of the post and visit our site to see the slideshow).

Porsche 911 901 Prototype for sale in Nigeria

Okay, maybe that’s a reach, but after reading the following ebay description you tell me if this sounds like the same people who just found $20,000,000 in a bank account and they really, really just want to share it with you out of the goodness of their hearts.

For those of you not wanting to make the jump to eBay, here’s a brief taste of “seller’s” description:

Porsche 911 901 Prototype

To the local and to the general reader. To the antiquary and to the uninitiated. To the inquisitive admirers of fine arts we hope to prove this acceptable. Simple and uninportant as the subject may first appear, it will be found, upon a nearer view, well worth the attention of philosophical and historical inquires.

901 Prototype for sale on ebay

The seller goes on to say that the 901 prototype is actually “hidden” under a 1971 Porsche 911T which is hidden under a 1986 Porsche 911. Say what?

Oh, lest we forget, the starting bid for this historical treasure is $950,000. I would say the seller could always get a job writing creative ad copy if this sale doesn’t go through.

How much would you pay for the “ultimate” Porsche simulator?

$25k? $50k? $100k? How about $1,000,000? That’s what the seller of this Taito Chase H.Q. full motion simulator is asking? Not familiar with Taito or Chase H.Q.? Don’t worry, unless you were addicted to video arcade games in the early 80’s you are probably not alone.

Taito's CHASE HQ full motion porsche racing simulator arcade game

Some of you may remember that it wasn’t all that long ago when John was trying to convince me we needed a Porsche pinball machine. Well, it would seem he’s found something similar that we MUST have. Fortunately Unfortunately, this one looks like it just might be a bit out of reach, at least from a pricing expectation standpoint. The seller has a buy it now price of $1,000,000. They can’t be serious, can they? This is just a strategy to get their listing noticed and published on sites like ours, isn’t it?

After a bit of research I found that the Taito Chase H.Q was released in 1988 and featured a Porsche driving (a black Porsche 928), miami-vice looking, criminal chasing cop named Tony Gibson. Apparently Tony, and his partner Raymond Broady, were part of the Chase Special Investigations Department. It was their role, that you as the game player filled, by chasing down the bad guys in their two speed, turbo powered Porsche 928.

At the start of each game you learn who you will be chasing and how far away they are from you. It’s your job to chased them down and then run them off the road with a few well placed bumps (in my opinion a great way to dispose of most criminals). Each time you run down a criminal you advance to the next level and chase down a new car. All in all there are five levels and five criminals driving five completely different cars:

  1. Ralph, the Idaho Slasher (White Lotus Esprit)
  2. Carlos, the New York armed robber (Yellow Lamborghini Countach)
  3. Chicago pushers (White Porsche 911)
  4. L.A kidnapper (Blue Ferrari 288 GTO)
  5. Eastern Bloc Spy (Red Porsche 928)

While the seller of the simulator in question might be a bit over the top in their price and description this does look like a fun game for a Porsche enthusiast who also likes arcade games. If you’re not interested in a “full motion” simulator that may take up as much room in your garage as the real thing, I also found a site that offers the stand-up version and for considerably less money.

So, what do you think, will the simulator version sell? The price is obviously a gimmick, so if does sell, how much will it go for? I already offered them $500 :-)

How Much Does a Porsche Covered in 40lbs of Gold Cost?

That, remains to be seen. However, if the starting bid is any indication, it’s going to take a minimum of $400k and then some.

In the past, we’ve seen other Porsches covered in gold, we’ve even seen Porsches covered in tweed and camouflage. However, we’ve never seen one of these “blinged” out gems for sale, until now that is.

According to the seller, “This is not even just an object of status – it is the object of ultimate style. It is a car for person who likes to be in a center of attention. Who wants to be The One And Only. Now imagine yourself riding slowly in this car with roof back in any city of the world. Cannes, Monte Carlo, Dubai, Los Angeles – anywhere. Who can be like you on any road? Near any club, casino or wherever? No one!

Remember Joey Carrera? Yup, that’s him above. Rumor has it he’ll be working hard to score the winning bid on this auction.
