I certainly am not surprised with any extreme shows of wealth there (after 6 years of traveling there on a monthly basis until 2007). But considering their property values have dropped 40% and their slave-wage laborers are getting packed up and sent back to where they came from, I suspect we will be seeing little more of this for a little while. This is one of the most disgusting displays of conspicuous consumption I have ever seen. Some people have way too much money for their own or anybody else's good, and it is a shame that so much of it gets wasted in obscene ways. This abomination reminds of the gold plated toilets that the former president of Iraq used to polish with his pimply ass, while his people starved.
