Christian Muschal has to resign for health reasons

Stuttgart. On May 1, 2008 Thomas Lamperstorfer (42) is taking on the management of Porsche Switzerland, a one hundred per cent subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart. Lamperstorfer has fulfilled various managerial functions at Porsche AG over the past 15 years. Most recently he has been responsible for works car sales and the vehicle fleet.

Christian Muschal had been working successfully on building up the Swiss subsidiary since Porsche Switzerland was founded in August 2007. He has to give up the position of managing director for health reasons. Muschal will now be undertaking special projects at
Porsche AG in sales and marketing.

From June 1, 2008 Porsche Switzerland will take over from AMAG Automobil- und Motoren AG the import and sale of Porsche vehicles, spare parts and accessories. However, AMAG will continue to be an important trading partner for Porsche. The new subsidiary, with its head office in Zug, will initially look after twelve Porsche Centers.

Porsche to start production of the 911 again on Monday

Explosion in Porsche Factory

Last week’s explosion will not cause delays in delivery of the Porsche 911 series

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, will be starting production of the 911 series again next Monday, March 3, at the main factory in Zuffenhausen. Production was stopped last Monday following a conflagration that occurred in the paint shop, in which a PVC fusion oven was badly damaged. The material damage, amounting to several hundred thousand Euros, is largely covered by insurance.

The causes of the accident have now been identified. External experts have ascertained that the gas escape was due to a technical defect. An examination of the other ovens has shown that they are in perfect working order and fully functional.

By adopting special measures, it will be possible to compensate the production backlog of 800 vehicles that arose during this week in the course of the current business year.

Porsche eBay Find of the Month

February 28, 2008

Porsche TagSackOk, so we’ve already posted our eBay Find of the Month for February. Truth be told, we never know what we’re going to find or when we are going to find it, so the title is simply a place holder. Anyway, we enjoy spending time on eBay finding rare, odd and one-of-a-kind Porsche objects. If you ever see something you think belongs here be sure to let us know. Today’s find is a little tongue-in-cheek, but you never know, some of you might think it is a must have.

Here’s a mod I bet you haven’t done

For the Porsche owner who has done every possible modification and upgrade available, we present the perfect gift. Tired of that unsightly electronic toll-pass sitting in your window. Don’t like advertising for the toll company or the bank that sponsors it. Here’s your answer.

The Porsche TagSack

This is a soft-sided sack that fits over electronic toll collection tags nationwide. No more need to use glue, velcro or tape to hold your responder to the windshield! You no longer have to hide the Toll Tag in the windshield tint strip (illegal placement), or hold it up as you drive through the toll plaza (illegal use). Use TAGSAK™ to safely position your toll pass without affecting your car’s appearance.

Don’t take our word for it, check out the listing on eBay
